Numbers Go Burrr! v0.2 - The Red Update is LIVE!


The most requested feature on the list was a press-and-hold feature. Version 0.2 builds on top of the core clicking mechanic with a press-and-hold function.

What’s New

Press-And-Hold Power Hold down the BRRR button for a point boost.

  • Initial press: +1 point and +1 grid square
  • Every 0.5 seconds: +1 additional point
  • 3-second maximum: Automatic end with a satisfying animation
  • Bonus Reward: When the press-and-hold ends, gain points equal to the total points gained during the hold.

Strategic Depth: While it doesn’t do much now, a full 3-second hold nets you 12 points with only a single square placement, but rapid clicking fills the grid faster. Why’s that matter? That’s for a future version to reveal.

Visual Update

Watch your clicks leave a mark on the background in the form of squares that fill a grid. While your current score and high-score are persistent across sessions. Your grid progress will reset. While this doesn’t do much now, future versions will build on top of this mechanic.

Other Notes:

  • I wrote a small insignficant shader to help with dealing with the text legibility on top of th background grid. Still a work in progress.
  • This update resets your Current Score from v0.1, but stores your High Score so we can try to use that later.
  • Looking forward, v0.3 will bring purchasable upgrades which I think is the most expected feature from a clicker game.
